A little known collectible niche is Canadian Made Toys! Mid twentieth century there were many Canadian manufacturers. Sadly, most closed due to the cheaper Asian import influx.
RELIABLE TOY CO was founded in 1920 and managed to last til 1991. A very popular doll and stuffed toy maker, with high quality materials and innovative designs.
The photo at the top of this blog shows a pair of rare celluloid doll rattles made by Reliable Toy! They have loops in the tops of their heads so that a ribbon can be added. REGAL TOY was established in 1959 and two of the co-founders were from Reliable Toy Co! Regal Toy was sold to Parker Bros (General Mills) USA but continued production under the Regal Toy name until 1983 when it was sold again but sadly went bankrupt the following year.
EARLE PULLAN DOLL CO was located in Toronto Ontario Canada and operated from 1945 to 1967 when it was bought out by Mattel.
