It will be two years next month that I made the jump to being my own boss and running my own on line business FULL TIME! No it hasn't been easy but it is a lot more fun with a greater sense of accomplishment than working for someone else!
I consider it a success! However, will Canada Post bring my tiny little empire crashing down around my ears? The corporation's unionized postal workers may be ON STRIKE as of Wednesday May 25. Last moment negotiations are in play, and I am keeping my fingers crossed, but relying on others for my own success was what I was trying to move away from!
Couriers are an option, should "the worst" happen, though not a favoured option. In all comparisons I have investigated, though Canada Post has some of the most expensive rates for parcels in the world, they are still lower than courier rates! Perhaps I could "eat" the difference in cost for couriers to keep my business running and hope the strike does not last very long!
We shall see.
