Antique Vintage & Unusual Finds from Florida Trip!

Sourcing "Smalls" in Florida from Antique Malls, Flea Markets, Thrift Stores and Starbucks! Bringing YOU the Treasures so YOU don't have to search for them!

A sourcing trip can add a great variety to your offerings, especially in places such as Florida which has an eclectic population of temporary residents who seek the sunshine from cooler climes and find they must shed their extra knickknacks to relieve their condo clutter!

A variety of discoveries from an Antique Mall in Melbourne Florida. (Sorry, these are IPhone pics "on the run".) Retro mid-century modern dark teak round ball serving bowl, spoon and dish set, vintage plastic dollhouse Renwal pink wringer washer and two rocking chairs, hand painted and signed miniature wooden butter churn, vintage green enameled Rex 5th Avenue ladies powder compact, modern Apple official Beatles ceramic trinket box, enameled copper nude silhouette dish underneath an old Datsun car emblem, wooden chef salt & pepper shaker set, black lacquer ware jewelry box with mother of pearl inlay scene, Italian wooden inlay music box, vintage 1940s Peg Solitaire game, carved African mask with mother of pearl inlay, and some jewelry pieces.

Two Whiting & Davis metal mesh evening bags, and interesting, possibly handmade Native Doll.

Meanwhile, a view from the condo balcony!

What does one do when Tropical Storm Andrea descends? (We were on the Atlantic Coast, so were only getting the outer edges, and a phenomenon called "storm pockets", but also tornado warnings??!!).....I gather up and pack my goodies. Everything fit in two suitcases along with my clothes!

The gathering of my treasures, shown atop a single sized bed.

 All packed!

Visible in the suitcase is a fun woven hemp Peace Sign messenger bag made in Nepal, a vintage Brat Doll (red hair), and in the smaller case, a pair of Lilly Pulitzer blue and green print capris (they fit me!) and a red woolen toque (hat) with hand sewn travel patches.

I unpacked when I got back, and miraculously, this selection of plush/soft toys were also in those suitcases! Folkmanis Grizzly Bear puppet, Mercedes Benz promo Teddy from Indianapolis 2000, Ruby Teddy Bear dressed in velvet 2006, Lillian Vernon vintage woolen plush Ballerina Teddy, Russ 1985 Snuggle promo teddy, Burberry perfume promo Teddy, plush Murphy Moose Original by Kamik, Starbucks 2006 Bearista Teddy 52nd Edition, Vintage Snoopy Joe Cool plush, Applause Baby Teddy Winks 1987, Dakin 1983 Pooky Teddy (Garfield's bear), and Dakin 1983 Plush Horse puppet.  Plush toys do make wonderful cushions for the few pieces of anything breakable found while away when packing the treasures, but I do try to limit my hunting to non-breakables. There were some I couldn't resist though!

Though mostly bagged, you can glimpse some of the jewelry and other small collectibles I found!

The storms cleared out in the evening and the next morning that I was to fly out of Orlando, dawned bright and sunny, but unfortunately there was no time for lounging around the pool before hitting the road!

What appears to be a strange spiky tree in the centre, is actually the "bloom" of the Century plant, a species of yucca! It makes a lovely statement against the clearing evening sky!

One of the fun Antique Shops we stopped to browse during our stay! A dressed mannequin greets you at the door!

Random residential neighbourhood scenes in Florida.  Love the palm trees and draped moss!

Now that I am back, I have LOTS of research and photography to do on my treasures, in order to bring them to YOU in my Mandicrafts Store (unless I keep a few for my own collections)!

Visit Mandicrafts to see what finds are already listed for your perusal!
