Hi All
Here we are on the outskirts of Jacksonville Florida! It FINALLY became sunny and hot this afternoon, but I was beginning to wonder! We had torrential DOWNPOURS of rain through Georgia. We were on the road by 8:30 am this morning, and within 2 hours had found our first Antique Shop in Yulee, Florida. Spent an hour there, and a few hundred yards down the road was the second stop where we whiled away 2 1/2 hours! It was a great place!
We can't believe some of our finds! Jewelry, vintage handbags, toys, ephemera, ladies vintage gloves (like Kate will have to wear!), and many other items that we will try to photograph once we are at our home base (the condo) tomorrow. I think I have uncovered a lovely vintage Knickerbocker teddy bear but I will have to do further research at home.
After leaving Yulee, we stopped for snacks (we had missed lunch by this time) and we carried on to yet another Antique Shop on Amelia Island. Most items were too expensive for our budgets but we both managed to uncover some unknown treasures and I helped the owner identify a little c1920's mohair dog she had recently acquired!
Here is Melissa urging me inside!
Wonderful hanging moss on the surrounding trees! This is when the sun finally peeked out!
This evening we stayed in and ordered pizza. Exhausted with all of our hunting! Plus the view across the street is great! The firemen are washing down their firetruck in their drive!
We will arrive at the condo late tomorrow afternoon! More details on our finds then (with the addition of MORE, more than likely)!
Bear Hugs
