B.C. & Las Vegas - I was Thrifting With The "Boy"!
My trip to B.C. Canada and then on to Las Vegas was a lot of fun and I managed to uncover many small treasures everywhere I stopped! Being limited by a suitcase and air travel can make one inventive as to what to search for and what to leave behind! I usually avoid a lot of breakables but a few can be wrapped in clothing and survive the trip home.
In BC I found a few Canadiana items!
A popular Canadian television series was "Corner Gas". It ended after 6 seasons in 2009, leaving folks wanting more!

An interesting T Shirt declaring it is a Limited Edition for the Grand Opening of the Calgary (Alberta) Hard Rock Cafe in 1995! Not an "official" Hard Rock labelled T, I was able to confirm that some franchise owners had promo items printed up on their own.

On to Las Vegas, where I was privileged to spend a morning thrifting with the "Boy"! Jason Smith of the duo "Thrifting With The Boys", along with long time friend and colleague Dawn Ralston, led me to two Savers locations! Jason is a Thrifting expert and very knowledgeable on T Shirts, Tikis, Star Wars and music genres (to name just a few) and Dawn and I had several mini lessons on what to look for!
I found a vintage North American Bear Co Plush Fox neck scarf from their Fabulous Fakes series, and here I am posing with it in Savers with Jason (who liked the genuine mink collar I found and has it on his head!).

Jason is not shy, and as he was shopping for women's wear with a Hawaiian flare, he came upon a plus sized ladies dress that he just had to try out! That's Dawn in the background with the look of disbelief on her face!
I came across a Paradise Hawaii, Made in Honolulu sun dress in a stunning orange hibiscus print. Jason advised me that it was vintage with just a quick look at the neck label! Likely 1970's, with a flirty flounce bodice overlay, this dress came back to Canada with me!

Plush stuffed animals, both vintage collectible and modern "cute", is a favourite search of mine and I found TWO adorable Wells Fargo ponies. Dawn and I could each take one home with us! Jason was a little disappointed there wasn't a third pony for him!

"Snowflake" a pony created in 2011 from a Wells Fargo Magazine Cover dated March 1917.
After an enjoyable lunch together, Dawn and I moved on to an Antique Mall for more Treasure Hunting and Jason left for an appointment.
Later we all met back up again for Trivia Night at the pub! It was also a surprise birthday celebration for the second member of Thrifting With The Boys, Bryan Goodman! Instead of a cake, his candles were in a massive pile of Nachos!
Luckily, the FULL number of candles were NOT put on the Nachos so he had no problem with blowing them all out!
Here is a fun item I found in Savers! A mini Starbucks Mug! A new in box collectible ornament from 2007, just 2 oz capacity commemorating the City of Las Vegas!! It was destined!
