Steiff, Hermann, Schuco, Clemens, Cherished Teddies...Oh My!

Hi Everyone!

What wonderful collectible teddies and friends I have found!  My Treasure Hunting has certainly turned up some real TREASURES!!  Vintage critters made by Steiff, Hermann, Schuco, and Clemens and some Cherished Teddies figurines!

It takes time and perseverence to properly identify some of these fuzzy guys when they don't have their tags, labels or buttons and my reference books are well thumbed through!  It is always great when they retain some or all of their identification tags but there have been some mysterious ones that don't like to give up their origins easily.  Nose style, accessories, materials, and even eye colour can help track down their makers.

Here is a taste.....

Vintage Mohair CLEMENS Mountain Goat or Sheep.  He conveniently has his red hang tag which says "Clemens" a German maker.

Here is an example of a seldom seen DOUBLE BUTTON on a Steiff!  This cutie is LULLY BABY BEAR.  Sometimes those Steiff receiving a "Lentil" style nickel ear button seem to get two!

The second button has it's top "face" missing.  Perhaps that is why he received a second button!

Many of the German maker's made similar style animals during the same time period and it can be difficult to pinpoint who made which one!
Here you find a Steiff Foxy Fox Terrier (the larger dog) and a Hermann Fox Terrier (the smaller dog).  The Steiff has his button but the Hermann was determined because he has mohair ears whereas the Steiff smaller Fox Terriers had ears made from felt.  The Hermann terrier's glass eyes are
also a different colour from the Steiff version.

Here I believe we have a Schuco Teddy Bear, perhaps their Molly design.  Her facial design is also something seen on their Hegi line of bears but she is much earlier than that.

Finally, here is a RARE Cherished Teddies "Daisy" Figurine from 1992.  Often the "Holy Grail" for CT collectors!  Unfortunately, she comes without her original box and COA but she is in very good condition!

Thanks for spending a few moments with me!
